Why Edward Cullen Is Not Automatically an Ephebophile ("Twilight" and Human/Immortal Romances)

I’m going to take a page out of Das_Mervin's book and do a little “Hate it for the Right Reasons!” entry myself. Mervin has already covered why antis are wrong to bash Twilight just for having sparkling vampires who don’t have fangs and aren’t killed by sunlight, as well as the real reasons why antis should complain about those things. Now, I’m going to talk about another accusation that gets regularly thrown at Twilight and Edward Cullen in particular. Namely, the accusation that Edward is a pedophile because he’s dating (and eventually marries) a teenage girl, and that’s why his relationship with Bella is creepy (aside from all of the other reasons).
